Search Results Issues

Hi All,
I am having an issue with https://www.toyotaofwilmington.com/
If you do searches using Ad Preview for “2016 Toyota Camry in Wilmington, NC” or “2016 Toyota Corolla in Wilmington, NC” we are having issues with the website not showing up organically. We have the location set to Wilmington, NC, but their competition which is located in Jacksonville, NC which is over an hour away shows up organically on the first page.
I am wondering if there are any obvious reasons as to why this would happen, or if there is something bigger I need to look at?
Thank you,
Cyrus

One thing I would check out is that you correctly claimed your local citations. You can use the Moz local too to run a quick scan and check for accuracy and make sure everything has been claimed. I would also recommend running a moz crawl because when I ran a quick crawl a lot of pages are showing a "429" status code - Too many request. This could be a server issue. Here is a previous Moz thread on this issue https://moz.com/community/q/429-errors.
Hope that helps some.

Hi Cyrus,
I actually see you coming up organically (just searching in Google) for these terms, on the first page. I'm not using Ad Preview.
To start troubleshooting any issues with your Local SEO, I'd recommend going through this: https://moz.com/blog/local-seo-checklist
Remember, too, that location has a greater impact on Local Pack rankings than on organic ones, so while you may be physically closer to people in Wilmington, you may not be as strong organically as the Jacksonville competitor.
