      Hi!

Our site http://www.metecoparts.gr/ help our customers search our inventory of cars for used parts.

The way the titles of product pages are structured is: Car Parts – Make Model Year – Brand Name. So for instance this page http://www.metecoparts.gr/car/4074-alfa-romeo-156-1997 have the title "Car Parts Alfa Romeo 156 1997 – Meteco SA" (I have translated Greek words to English)

So as you can imagine we end up with a bunch of duplicate titles pages. I’m trying to diversify the titles but the problem is that there aren’t many product identifiers other than body configuration, car color, fuel, engine capacity and engine code. But only color and year of production is partly unique as most Alfa Romeo 156 are 4 door saloons, with 1600cc petrol engine.

The only thing that is unique for every product page is the page ID. So should I use it in the page title? Its the only unique identificator but on ther other hand it has no use for our customers. Or is there any other way of having unique titles that I am missing?

Please note that in our industry on-page optimization is crucial since there is no social sharing and much link building (who wants to share an old car that is being sold for parts?)

      Thank you

I'm not 100% sure I understand the situation - but there are 2 things I think it could be, so here's an idea for each:

        1. Is each page for a specific part? If so, you could put that it the title - for example "Alfa Romeo 156 1997 Piston Heads – Meteco SA"

        2. Is each page for a specific used car that's being sold for parts? If so, what if you have a place to enter a short, (3-5 word), description for each car, then add that to the title somehow? You could also add a slightly longer description to put on the page where you give a little of the car's history or condition, which might also help the customer, (eg, "This alpha romeo has a seized engine"). Edit: it looks like you might already have the description, but I don't read Greek so I'm not 100% sure.

Other than that, maybe a car ID would work - eg, "Car Parts Alfa Romeo 156 1997 #562 – Meteco SA", but I'm not sure if that would help the customers much. How about the date that you got the car? By the time you combine model, year, colour, engine capacity, and date it must be almost unique.

          Thank you for your reply!

          1. No, each page is not for a specific part. We upload the whole car, with photos and some car information.

          2. Yes one page equals one car that's being sold for parts. If I add 3-5 words to the title, then the title is too big! The phrace "car parts" in greek alone is 28 characters (we have a terrible language for internet optimazation! :P)

But you got me into thinking and maybe I will target a spefific car part for each page, even if the page itself is not only for one part e.g. door or engine. But that will give me more flexibility and also a more spesific keyword targeting. So insted on using "Car parts" at every title. I can rotate through "doors", "engine", "gearbox" etc, and add a decription in the page that we have much more parts for that model.
