New website content before or after new webdesign launch?
-
Hi,
We are planning a full website redesign and rewriting the content of the key pages. The new contents will be ready sooner than the new website, what is the better solution?
1. Replace the content of the old site with the new (better) contents
or
2. Waiting until the new website will be ready (over months) and launch it with it? -
Hi,
Are you launching completely new website or just changing the design of the current website? If you are just changing the design, then you can post the new content and then re-design the website (as long as your re-design would not interfere with the content). Are you planing to keep the website live while re-designing?

Hi,
We are launching a completely new website and keep the old website live until the new site launches.

It depends on the purpose and quality of the content. If this is just regular content that you normally post to your site, I would post it.
On the other hand, if the content was a piece that I really thought would be a difference maker and really impactful compared to my "regular" (I know, I know - all content is impactful) content. I would hold off and post the content when I launch the new site to give my audience a legit reason to check out the new eye candy.

The content what I'm talking about is a description of a service.
This content exists and will exist in the future.
We will rewrite this content and do it more valuable, write new meta tags (Title, Meta description, Headings), and add some more content about that service's topic. -
Hi Jozsef,
The sooner you put the content online the sooner you will start ranking with it. So if the content, url and metadecriptions/ tags stay the same it wouldnt harm to just post it.
