Wix platform

Hi,
I have a client with a wix platform and I was wondering about the letters and numbers on the url
website.com/#!my-blog/lw27x when it comes to SEO will this effect the overall rankings as I can not seem to change them and any tips for ranking in the weddings niche?
Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,
Yes, that's a common issue with WIX platform. The #! is a part of AJAX Technology and unfortunately can not be removed from your url. _"You can use 301 redirect to create custom URLs for the purpose of sharing your website pages". _Here is a full answer from WIX regarding this issue:
WIX had an update recently, which I think was mainly targeted towards SEO, as they've included more features and most importantly explanations (e.g. the process of submitting sitemap, clear 301 redirect procedure).
What I also noticed with WIX is that websites have multiple versions of a homepage (e.g. www.yourdomain.com/default.php loads and does not redirect to the main url nor gives the 404).
Regarding tips for ranking, head over to MOZ blog/learn.

Sounds like he is using a free version of WIX hence the letters and numbers, if he paid the subscription fee and hosting he can pick a unique domain name with no letters/numbers
