Adding some unique text to search
-
I do not know how to easily explain that but I will try

We are running the yellow pages in our country, where most (all) of the companies are listed. Each company has their keywords that are used in our search.
All of those search keywords are indexed by Google and it goes something like that domain.com/search/keyword
So far this page only lists the companies that match the search query. So that's not much content.
I'm thinking about adding a sentence that would go something like this:
The search query lists the companies of our country that do KEYWORD. So far COUNT was found. That seems pretty short and I am not sure if that does a lot of help for Google. But I cannot think of more text. Any ideas? Or should I give up on the idea of adding anything at all?

Hi there
Just to make sure I understand you correctly:
- You have a yellow pages style of website
- You'd like to rank each category/keyword page when someone searches for that category in Google
- Currently you list the companies in that category on the page - but the rest of the page doesn't have text (or 'rankable content')
- You're thinking of ways to add more content to the page to help it rank better
Would you be able to add a bit more information about each keyword/category? Maybe information about what those companies do, how they could help someone, what they typically charge etc? That would allow you to add a bit more content to each of these pages.
I would say, however, that the style of website you're trying to rank might be seen as a doorway site or a directory site, which Google isn't too keen on rewarding when it comes to search. To combat this, I would look to add additional content ideas to the website in the form of a blog or other information. Maybe you could interview a business each week as a featured company? Perhaps you could write articles for small business guides on issues like finance, marketing, tax etc. Or maybe even do research and whitepapers for the state of certain industries in local areas - if they're booming or in a crisis.
The idea is that you'd be adding additional value to your website for the user - which would not only increase the perceived 'quality' of the website in Google's eyes, but could also help you rank for some long-tail content as well.
Hope this helps.

Yes

Categories are ranked pretty Good in Google (we have 350 categories, where we list companies). We added text for every category (300 words each)
There are around 200000 long tailed keywords (search phrases or keywords from) from every single company - impossible to add manual text. So we want something automatic, that Google would have to index. At least 50 words. I know that we would not rank in top positions but at least some long tail keywords would bring traffic.
- Currently you list the companies in that category on the page - but the rest of the page doesn't have text (or 'rankable content')
True to that.

True to that.
We have a list of 3000 articles, that rank damn good (added daily) in Google. And yes we add interviews as well.
And still I believe that some text would help. But can figure out what would do the trick.
