Medical Remarketing
-
Hi Moz'ers,
I work with primarily medical practices and have had a huge issue with remarketing. AdWords no longer allows remarketing to the medical industry per their policies, not even branded. I've tried working with Ad Roll, and they only permit "branded" remarketing ads, meaning no specific call outs on procedures.
Has anyone worked with a remarketing service with less restrictions in the medical industry?
Thanks!

I haven't run into this issue, but it sounds like whoever you go with isn't going to be able to use Adwords as a platform, per their policies. Have you tried Perfect Audience? Or Triggit? To name a few. Still, Google dictates a lot of policy out there so the style of ad you're trying to run might have even more limited options in the future.

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the feedback both of the services you referenced have policies that make it difficult to remarket for Medical.

I haven't worked in the medical field before, so I don't know of another network you could use for remarketing. It might be better to know where your target audience hangs out on the internet and buy display space there.
The only thing I can think of to get around this retargeting option would be to build pages into your site that don't request personal medical information to see if you can clear the retargeting policies. Sites that aren't requesting personal medical information can in fact build retargeting lists. I assume you're part of the pharmaceuticals and not just a doctor's office or else you should have been able to get around the policy.

Jasmine,Man do I wish you were right about this. Unfortunately, no dice. Our website doesn't request personal information outside of the "Contact Us" form and a form for requesting an appointment, but even then we're not talking about any medical information at all. I've been turned down multiple times for all remarketing campaigns. I would love to hear from anyone who has had success with this recently.
