Sadly this won't be a Penguin update. Google have said not to expect anything for months yet

That's what I also thought and that's why I am so doubtful right now. But what else could cause the site to go to its pre-Penguin level over night?

I don't want to sound negative, but do wait another day or two, just to make sure Google isn't doing some sort of reclassification or something similar.

If everything is still there in a couple of days, then you may have a win on your hands, but it won't be a Penguin refresh doing this. You may find that another algorithm has run that tips the scales in your favour.

Interesting. I haven't seen any chatter at all about Penguin hitting...and usually when people think Penguin is hitting I usually get bombarded with emails.

I wonder if it was part of a Penguin test? If this is the case then things could change soon. Please keep us updated.
