Is the 7 pack counted as organic

Hi-

When I look in the search console at the queries and see my average rank for words am I right in the assumption that this does not include the map packs?

For some target words we appear in both the packs and the organic results.  For some we appear in one or the other, for some we ONLY appear in the map pack. For the words where we ONLY appear in the packs, the search console does not show us ranking at all for our target word.

From what I can tell, map packs are NOT considered in the new Search Console data.

I have a client who is killing it in Maps, but is still recovering from an organic penalty making the site basically non-existent in organic ranks for anything that isn't brand. None of what the website ranks for in Maps is being counted from what I see, since the Search Console is only showing branded stuff.

Hi Lisa,

Unfortunately, I can't find any authoritative documentation from Google (or from anyone else) on this since the rebranding of GWT. It sounds like both you and William are seeing the same thing - your pack rankings don't seem to be reflected. So, that's a start, but what I can't come up with is an answer as to whether the tool can somehow be configured to reflect these. I would suggest that you write to Google about this and see if you can get an official response. If you do, it would be super nice if you would share what you learn with the community here, as these are early days and everyone is still in a learning phase with this. So sorry not to have a clear answer for you on this good question!
