I recently completed a new site for a law firm. This new site will be hosted under a new domain name.My question is, can I simply update all of the citations and replace the domain name. Or do I need to create new citations or can I add the new site to the citations showing two website in my profile?

      Thanks

I'm a bit confused. Are you talking about within a portfolio of past work you've done for clients on your own website?  Or are you talking about 301 redirection from the old domain to the new?  Or a bit of both?

          Thanks for the response.

The client has an established website for his law firm. All of his current online profile/citations were built using the established website's domain.

I have recently built a new website for the same client, but he wanted to use a new domain. Should I update all of his current citations that have his old domain to reflect his new domain name?

Is the established website staying active? Or is he moving all business to the new website?  If the latter, feel free to update citations as well as redirecting to the new site.  If he's keeping both websites and they're different businesses, you'll have to treat the new one as a separate entity and go through the process of developing its marketing and SEO from scratch.  Keep the old citations pointing to the original site, and work on developing new ones for the new site.  Cheers!
