Rankings on Google local search
-
Hi,
I have been experiencing different rankings while searching with Google local site such as on:
- google.com.mt > English interface
- google.com.mt > native language interface but still searching in English.
The search phrase is always in English. Also in both occasions the SERPs would contain English listings.
There would be no Local/Map listings that affect results order.
What is the solution to increase visibility on both English interface and native language interface?
Thanks!

Hi Conrad. When it comes to Local Ranking Factors, you should be able to apply several from the exhaustive list here: http://moz.com/local-search-ranking-factors regardless of location. Work through the list there to see what factors might be missing from your listing and you'll likely increase your visibility. Cheers!

Hi Ryan,
Thank you for your reply

So basically if no Local Maps/Listings box appears in the SERPs. The factors for Local search would still kick in? Like having NAP citations and so on?
Thanks!

Yup. As an example, run a search for "portland made leather" in comparison to "hand made leather" The localization factors are definitely a consideration in the first one (without displaying the Local Listings box) and less so in the second. Of course the first few results are going to also be ranking as they do for other considerations, but local plays a part in it, both on and off page.
