Is there a tool to estimate Organic Impressions, other than Webmaster Tools?

Hi dear Moz Community,

I am trying to get some reliable organic traffic estimates for certain keywords and not use Adwords Keyword Tool or Webmaster Tools. I am not sure if Adwords Keyword Tool provides reliable data and Webmaster Tools shows impressions only for the keywords you rank for.

What tools are you guys using to assess whether it is worth writing a piece of content for a certain keyword?

The numbers within Bing Webmaster Tools--while a smaller sample size than Google--are more precise.

The vast mojority of tool out there are using adwords API, so you have very few alternatives. Personally I think that if you don't trust Google data you'll have the same issue with Bing's one, being also a search engine.

The solution I recommend you are two:

• wordtracker, one of the oldest out there is a very good alternative to google. They estimate searches based on data retrieved from their partner sites. BTW remember that even if it could be precise, don't use it (and neither any other tool out there) for making math with search volume as you'll never have a 100% accurate tool for that.

• I also received good feeedbacks about wordstream but I really never used it.

You can use the Moz Keyword Difficulty Tool. We use Bing's data and then some of our own calculations. (We used to use Google Adwords, but they blocked all SEO tools from their API data.) I'd also say to make sure you're testing and taking any of these numbers and their volumes as suggested, not true exact data. (Google included!)

You can branch out to kiss metrics, go to segment.IO look at most of the analytics companies there they will give you some good information.

SEM Rush never killed anyone they will give you the type of data you're looking for.

You're specifically asking about impression data and, as far as I know, the only tools for that are google and bing webmaster tools. Take solace in knowing we're all in the same boat.
