Google Analytics - multiples of 22??
-
Hi,
I know I'm posting a Google Analytics question in an SEO forum... but I really need some help! No one is getting back to me on the Analytics forums

I'm reporting on one of my clients account to see the visits from multiple locations, and I'm getting some weird data coming through. I have a segment on which is pulling in data from trackable links we created, and looking on the location report in Analytics. What I'm seeing is multiples of 22 for a lot of countries with low traffic. I have attached a screenshot to show what I mean. It just seems too odd for this to be natural data. Can anyone think of a reason as to why this may have happened? And how can I stop it from happening?
The segment I have applied is just a simple filter that contains number IDs to only pull in data from sources that contains those numbers. We advertised on many different channels such as Google adwords search, and Google adwords display, LinkedIn, Baidu, BBc, TopMBA etc...
If anyone could shine a light onto this weird data, I'd be very grateful!
Thanks,
Virginia

Hi Virginia,
I'd be glad to help.
However, the pictures you've attached are set to private.
If you can make them public I'm sure I'll be able to offer some insight.
Thanks

Hi Virginia,
Is on top of your report in Google Analytics a warning showing that this report showing a sampled size of your data?
Cheers, M.

HI Martijn,
Yes I am using sample data - which I did think may be the reason, but didn't understand why Google would show the same amount of visits for multiple countries... I thought that was too easy an explanation :S!
Thanks,
Virginia

In my experience this is mostly the case, probably the same rate is around 4% and they just multiplied the number of visits from this size by 22 just to provide you with the numbers. It drives me crazy as well
