      Hiya guys

Everyone has been really good to me on here, just wanted a bit of advice with the keywords on my forum.

my website is a nightlife forum for the UK, each city has its own section. Each section has a eg:

_What's on in Birmingham? Club Nights, Upcoming Events, Promotions _

      as the  Title category,

Should I drop the Club Nights, Upcoming Events, Promotions and put that in the description of the forum.

      So it'll just be

      What's on in Birmingham?

      with a description

Find Club night information, Upcoming events and pr............. eg

Just wondering if it was to stop searches been made, like, Club nights in Birmingham etc. from being targeted.

      Your thoughts please guys

      Thanks for reading

        Luke,

It sounds like your keywords are around nightlife and the city. So, I would first look to see what people are currently searching on to find your pages now. You can find this in analytics or GWMT. If there are other keywords that are more searched, then you decide what you want as titles.

The Club Nights (does not sound like a term someone uses to search on - but I am in US), and promotions (sounds like it is someone searching for a deal on something) are not really terms to target and should be included in the description as you suggest. But, upcoming events may well be a term someone searches on.

Remember, do the KW research to know what people are looking for and let that drive your actions. You are on the right track though.

        Best

The overall idea makes sense as you want to target specific people who are really looking for the kind of content you offer but what the suggestion about keywords and description there is a slight problem and that is that this will also kick the users who are searching for nightlife in Birmingham...

          How about going like this?

Title: What’s on in the Nightlife of Birmingham?

Description: carry on with the result of the information in the description.

This way you will kick the irrelevant searches as well as welcome the people who are looking for your kind of content.

          Hope this helps!
