      Hi to all.

Ok so I am curious how to format and seo a website homepage?

This question is more in the way of dedicated towards how to rank locally if you have multiple services?

See I have a construction website and we have many services. So do you try and format the homepage to promote the brand, or do you go after the services?

Like would you say hey we are this company we serve here and here, and basically make it an about us page?

or do you say hey this is who we are, but say we do this, that, and the other?

I am afraid that although I have a webpage for each service, if the main url gets the link juice right now, how should a homepage be?

Thank you for any tips or suggestions.

      Chris

I use my homepage differently for different campaigns but in your case I would target your top level query and location set.

So if you are a general contract that offers multiple services then your index page would discuss your brand and how it is a general contract that provides these services.

This page would link into your individual service silos but be optimized for the jar term (location general contractors etc)

If you serve multiple locations to the point where your silo structure becomes too deep I would suggest looking at subdomains as a way to break apart top level services.

          Hi Chris,

I would suggest that you highlight each of your main services on the homepage with a small amount of text and a link leading to the individual page for each service. At the same time, each service should be in the main menu of the website as well. So, you might have an area on the homepage which reads: What We Can Do For You.

Beneath this, you would have a set of little lead-ins like kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, fence building or what have you, each with maybe 2-3 sentences summarizing a service and then a 'learn more about this service' link for each one.

          Hope this helps!
