Doing two Google Local Listings for the Same Business
-
So I have a question. I'm working on an auto dealer's website and we're trying to gear their service center toward the general public (rather than just one brand - IE Honda, GMC, Buick).
We have created a subdomain for the service page, and I was wondering if we could create a unique Google Plus page for it, in an effort to help its rank. Since the auto service center is on site at the dealership, I did not know if this would hurt us.
Does anyone have experience dealing with this issue?
Thank you!

I'd suggest you create only one Google+ Page focused on your brand. You can then add the G+ page batch on all subdomains if you want, as maintaining multiple G+ pages could be a little difficult, not to mention you will get more traction promoting your brand.

Hi OOMDO,
I'm not sure I'm fully understanding the work model you are describing here. Let me share some info in hopes that you'll see an answer in it, but if not, please provide further details.
Regarding the number of Google+ Local pages you may have, the Google Places Quality Guidelines state:
Departments within businesses, universities, hospitals, and government buildings may be listed separately. These departments must be publicly distinct as entities or groups within their parent organization, and ideally will have separate phone numbers and/or customer entrances.
So, in the case of an auto dealership, the business could technically build one Google+ Local page for its service department and another for its sales department, if these have different front doors and separate phone numbers. Is this what you are asking about?

Thank you so much for your answer Miriam. That is precisely the question I was trying to get answered.
