          From my understanding you can use both. I would, Google likes it when people use Google's products and idea's. But at the same time Bing does not work with Google data highlighter, so I would try to use both.

            The Highlighter is good if you don't have direct access to the code or for not to complex things... or if you are a small business and don't have the time and the budget for an a dev implementing Schema.org.

            Said that, if it is possible, I prefer to use Schema.org.

            1. It is the common standard for all the major search engines;

            2. Google, when refers to structured data, always refers to Schema.org. Take as an example the in-depth article. In its post, Google explain how to use the Schema.org article mark up - within other things - for having an opportunity to appear in that blend. At first you could think that "article" is one of the Highlighter option, but it fails and misses some of the Schema.org labels.

              Thanks Gianluca! Last question, is it ok if I use Google Data Highlighter after implementing schema markups in my website?

              Thanks in advance! 🙂

                If you use Schema.org, you don't have to use Schema Highlighter... it should doing things twice.

                Use that time for something else 🙂
