My website is www.davescomputersinc.com . When you google for terms like:

      ipad repair bridgewater nj

      daves computers

      etc...

My picture used to show up besides each link. Now its not there.

I didn't change anything on my site, can someone help me?

I'm not sure what happened, but usually for authorship to work, there needs to be a place on the page where it says "By: Your Name", and your G+ profile needs to have that site included as a place where you contribute.

I couldn't find the "By: Your Name" anywhere on this page http://www.davescomputersinc.com/ipad-repair-bridgewater-nj/

I would add that text to the pages you would like authorship to appear on, and make sure your G+ profile is synced.

        Good luck!

If the article includes the author's name and has a link with rel=author, is "By:" needed?

          Best,
          Christopher

            Hello,

First thing test your website here -

            http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets

This can tell you if it is working and where it is not. Although many people think you need to have a direct link to your G+ profile it's not always the case there is a sneaky bit of code you can put in the header but for the most part you do need to link the accounts. This means the website needs to point to your G+ and visa versa.

In your Google+ make sure your email is verified and you are a Contributor to your site

            In short:

Make sure G+ Has verified email & Contributor

It is working on : http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets

            Good luck!

No, the word "By" is not needed.  I have often Google+ linked just through their name - "Christopher Glaeser is the head writer at Freelap"

Of the several methods to claim authorship, I use rel=author on each article with a link to the author's biography, and the bio has rel=me with a link to the author's G+ account.  The author then includes a link back to the home page in the Contributor section.  Given that scenario, I have a couple of questions.

                1. When I use the rich snippets testing tool you provided above, I think it looks OK for the bio page but it does not give me good feedback on the articles.  I'm guessing the tool can not handle the indirection through the bio page but Google can.  So maybe everything is fine but I'm not certain.  Here are examples of an article and bio page:

                http://www.freelapusa.com/how-fast-can-usain-bolt-run-the-40-yard-dash/

                http://www.freelapusa.com/carl-valle/

Do these look OK to you?

                1. I'm using WordPress and I added the rel=author and rel=me links myself in the editor.  The author of these articles is not a registered blogger on my WP site; he just emails me the articles and I install them myself.  I'm guessing there is a WP plugin that would handle this rel=author and rel=me bio page automatically.  Is that the case and if so can you recommend a WP plugin?  Or, is the way I'm doing it OK?

                Best,
                Christopher

Hi there, I do not see any bylines on your site, nor content where there would naturally be a byline (e.g., feature articles and blog posts.) Authorship is, well, for individual authors -- while Publisher is for brands. Do you have a Google+ brand page? If so, you could verify it and add the Rel Publisher code to your page. This would increase (but not guarantee) your chances for showing up in the Knowledge Graph. To establish Authorship, you have been given a lot of good advice -- but you need to create content that is appropriate for Authorship as I mentioned. Hope that helps!
