I would strongly advise against buying +1s

anything against Google's terms are going to come back and bite you really badly.

Especially something as close to Google as its own social network I would not waste your time or money on trying to trick Google into getting ranked.

Spend the time and the money on legitimate ways of getting ranked.

        Sincerely,

        Thomas

            Patrick,

are you saying you disagree with me because I am not for doing this and you believe it is a good idea? Simply because somebody has 100 +1s will not take a difference if somebody has landed on their page they will not be deterred in my opinion by the lack of close ones shown in fact you do not have to show how many posts once you have nor how many Facebook likes or twitter posts.

I disagree with your advice to purchase a small amount of +1's if caught your site is sunk it will not be something Google goes lightly on and I am confused Patrick you say you would never engage in blackhat tactics well buying rather it be +1's, twitter followers or Facebook likes is against Google's terms therefore it is black hat

this idea  is 100% black hat regardless of using a small amount or not don't do it why would you want to start off with a contaminated site I hate to use the decisive words however that is exactly what it would be.

Spend your time and money on content and building something people actually want to come and visit not by trying to trick them into visiting your website.

Can you honestly tell me that if you were the first person to see a site and you liked the content that was there that you would actually leave because of lack of +1's ?  I have never done that ever and would never do that simply because if it's quality content and meets your needs than You have accomplished a lot more than most people have.

Do not take your money and time and do something against Google's terms of service with it.

I hope you see where I am coming from and  you will not hear crickets if you do not have X. amount of favorable social media likes in fact turn that off on your site that's where I would recommend just make a very nice looking button for each of the big social media players Facebook, twitter Google+ and  linkedin

obviously rather to use linkedin facebook sometimes depends on what you're actually doing with your website.

Here are examples of websites that look fantastic and utilize their own social media buttons that do not show how many likes they have or shares

            http://demo.studiopress.com/minimum/

            &

            http://demo.studiopress.com/quattro/

both offer easy to find social media buttons that blend in to the theme itself. Neither rather one that is very prominent or the other which is in any appropriate place but not taking over the website show how many times they've been clicked. This is a choice you can make when putting buttons on your website via whatever social media system you choose.

            Sincerely,

            Thomas

Patrick in order to you to say your hundred percent white hat you actually have to practice that.

              Respectfully,

              Thomas

                  Totally agree with Thomas here.

+1s and likes aren't gonna do that much for you and the negatives far outweigh the positives.

Honestly it shouldn't be that hard to start getting them on your own if you actually engage in a social community relevant to your field. They exist and if your site/page has something worthy then people will like it. Plain and simple. *(Also this will force you to create strong content which will help you succeed in the long and short run.)

I wouldn't advise buying +1's/likes etc as it is not the correct way to grow a genuine fanbase. If the people liking your page aren't genuine they won't help grow your business/ your posts won't be shared to their followers within the industry you are in and will probably not be very successful. It's far better to start out properly and grow a natural, genuine fan base 🙂

I wouldn't dare. Google would be the first to know!

                        Hi Jesse,

I agree with everything Jesse has said in fact doing the exact amount of time you're going to put into purchasing or the what the money would cost putting that into paying a firm or someone on O desk to actually go in and post your blog articles to Google + along with the other relevant social media networks will far outweigh starting off with a big negative.

if you think about it Google will figure out very quickly that somebody who just put a website online did not accumulate 100 +1s in the first hour of being online or however quickly they show up. It will be too fast and it will be from the same network or IP address Google is not dumb they have figured this stuff out long time ago and people selling it are sharks trying to take advantage of people.

stay away from anything Google says is a bad way to go and you will be starting a website in the best possible manner.

Thank you Jesse very good points.

                        Sincerely,

                        Thomas

If you can't get 100 FB likes for a new online product or service using white hat techniques then fold up the tent and go home.

EDIT: Posted in response to a suggestion that has since been deleted.

                            Guys,

                            Further to this article:
                            http://moz.com/blog/google-plus-correlations

I am keen to get myself some plus1´s.

Furthermore, I believe that I can curate the process so that they are drip fed to my site, from phone verified accounts, from different IP´s, etc... it could look semi natural.

Of course, I could do it the harder way which would mean asking people to do so in exchange for X. People will not necessarily just plus it for the sake of it.

                            mmmm.... thanks anyway guys!

Everyone who says "Google will know" is obviously not an expert with proxies. To answer you question, yes there is a way to add +1s without Google knowing. Would I do it? No because it's a waste of time and resources, I agree with everyone else when they say it doesn't do much for rankings.
