Yotpo for eCommerce social reviews
-
Anyone have experiences using Yotpo to support reviews for an eCommerce site?

I do. I have found it works really well actually. I beta tested the version out for Prestashop actually. The guy behind it, Omer is a great guy I have had a little contact with him. The only thing that worries me about the plugin is, what do they do with the information.
Other than that, it works flawlessly.

Thanks for responding. I am in the process of adding Yotpo to one of my sites now and look forward to activating the reviews soon. The system will send automated email requests to customers who made a purchase in the last 90 days, but currently there is no way to request reviews of products that were purchased prior to that. Sure would be nice if they would extend that range beyond 90 days. I don't fully understand the reach of the social aspects, but I think I have to begin using the system before I can fully appreciate the details and impact.
I also wish they would implement a user forum. In theory, they are working on that, but not sure why that would take more than a few days to do using an off-the-shelf solution. Beyond those two issues, the system does look promising.

Oh, it works nice. What platform are you using it with?
The social aspect is that it gives users the ability to post their reviews to their facebook or twitter accounts. I am pretty sure they just added rich snippets a bit ago as well.
I will shoot of an email in a few and ask Omer about the sending back dated emails. I know that was something they were working on and they were also working on using unique coupon codes as well. Because coupons are great to send that way.

I'm using Volusion.

Using Yotpo to support reviews is definitely a good way to maximise the potential of user reviews on your eCommerce store. Rather than letting your customer reviews sit as secondary content on your product pages, you can share them on your social media profiles since consumers place a lot of trust on user-generated content. Moreover, given the number of "fake reviews" out there, it would be a good idea to verify if your reviewers are actual buyers.
I have recently written a review with regards to harnessing the power of customer reviews, with special mention to how Yotpo can help eCommerce retailers in doing that: http://blog.referralcandy.com/2013/08/13/yotpo/
Hope that helps!

In the Moderate tab there is a Products drop down menu. This drop down includes four of our products, apparently randomly selected as best i can tell. These products are then promoted to our Facebook page when someone posts a site review. Is there a way to control which products will be promoted? The ones that were randomly selected are more like accessories than products, and I would like to edit this list of products.

I have figured this out so I'll provide the answer to clean up this thread. The Product menu shows the products that have been reviewed with the count for each product. When the Yotpo account is initially created, there are no reviews, so the system randomly selects four products and the count for each is 0. When product reviews are posted by customers, this list will change accordingly.
Thus far Yotpo is working great. The person verification using social media accounts and the ability to post reviews to social media outlets like FB and Twitter are great features.

Christopher
