PPC Landing Page Domain Question
-
Hi everyone.
I recently subscribed to unbounce for their landing page services. I found them to be very easy to use and to monitor.
My main objective is to drive traffic and capture lead through the landing pages and PPC campaign. I want people to land on really targeted landing pages through PPC.
I am having doubts on which domain to use. My domain is aceromart.com, and also own aceromart.co, aceromart.info, as in its my brand. Can i use "aceromart.co" or other related domain for my landing pages for example: aceromart.co/landingpage1, aceromart.co/landingpage2, and so on. And then when they fill out the form, or offer, then redirect to aceromart.com
I dont want to use my domain as the design of the landing pages is totally different from my page.
What would you recommend, what is the best practice?
Regards!

Technically, obviously you can do that no harm in it but from the user point of view this can be dangerous and you probably might see a decline in sales if you do this!
People when paying (especially big dollars) always look into different things and domain similarity is one of them... if for collecting payments you shift from one domain to another domain people might find it hard to trust you!
People when paying need a complete trust and in your case they can lose the trust level because shifting from one domain to another can be a scammer’s activity!
Just my two cents!

I agree with Moosa!
Stick with only one domain. Do not make any redirects during the checkout. If you do, you can expect your conversion rates to drop. Also if you have any customer service issues, they will more likely do chargebacks to your merchant credit account.

I would use the main .com domain for the reasons already stated.
It would be helpful to have the landing page look like the design of the rest of the site so I would look at adjusting the design which you say currently doesn't match.

I totally understand,
But i have a network solutions ecommerce platform, so trying to put a landing page in the platform with the desired forms and interaction is difficult. So thats why i inclined to Unbounce, and also because of the testing.
So should i use something like landing.domain.com?. I already use a subdomain for my blog. What is your recommendation,
Thanks in advance,

Everyone above is giving good advice and as this is PPC traffic to a single extra domian you should be ok, but my first thought when reading this question was doorway pages. I'd just be aware but from how i interpret what you're saying you should be ok.
The other point I wanted to make is that if you want to have all these high quality landing pages with low bounce rates and high clickthroughs, would probably be better to have on your main doman to attribute that value to your main TLD. I understand your comment about design discrepency but would they not experience that anyway leaving the anding pages to your back end conversion ones? Or maybe use rel cannonical which can be used cross domain.
Anyway, just thought I'd add a few more considerations to the chain.

Tuzzell,
thanks for the response.
i am having trouble understanding how to implement landing pages within the main TLD. Should it be www.domain.com/landingpage1, or www.domain.com/landing/landingpage1, or subdomain landing.aceromart.com
what do you recommend,
Thanks!
