Hi,
How long ago did you do this work? It can take a little while for google to catch up, but also a word of caution; if you have blocked the pages they may not de-index, you could be better off allowing access to them but set them to no index.
-
Second that. Recently we added the meta no index for all our blog tags, which made us go from 7K indexed pages to 3k. However, those pages are still showing up the search results. As we made the change a week or two ago, I am guessing it will take some time until all those pages are actually de-indexed (while not entirely sure if they will).

We made the change over a month ago, the problem is that these pages no longer are available.
How long do you think the site will take to recover after the duplicate/thin content problem is noticed by Google?
-
Apogee, it can take a month or more for those pages to fall out of the index. I bet if you do the site:domain search on a regular basis, you'll notice that 3K number going down sporadically.
You're last comment mentions "recovery". We you also penalized?

Just checking in on this - it seems the predictions have panned out - as I see the site now shows 2,170 pages indexed on the site search. Has this resolved for you as well?
