Where is the best rel=publisher placement?

Where should we place rel=publisher on our WordPress site? Pardon possible redundancy: I asked something similar to this a few months ago, but it doesn't answer this specific question and I am not finding good information currently.

We already have rel=author in place. And use authorsure and All in One SEO.

Hi Gina

In order to verify your G+ business page and by proxy have Google recognise the link between your site and the profile, you only need to have the rel=publisher tag on the homepage.

I believe it needs to be in the of the code, just like rel=author, but anywhere in the code will do.

By all means, you can have rel=publisher on other pages of your site as well, but this isn't a requirement to get the site verified and I don't believe it carries any additional benefit if you do.

If you use Yoast's Wordpress SEO plugin, it attaches the publisher tag to the homepage only and I believe this is the most common practice, as its what website's like Search Engine Land do.

The rel=publisher should only go within the section of your homepage.

I'm not sure if there are any plugins that will do this for you automatically, but if you add the following code to header.php (Appearance -> Editor -> Header) you should be good:

I use AuthorSure Wordpress plugin and it conforms to rel=author and rel=publisher in the settings.

Testing my sites has shown it works.

Your responses alerted me to the possibility that the code was already in place. We were Google verified long ago- we have the little check mark in G+ and I use AuthorSure. So lo and behold, we just checked and the code is there.
