      Hello.

I have a domain with scripts and components for websites, each product page is somehow different and contains different phrases and keywords, for example:

      a) Flash Photo Gallery
      b) JavaScript Menu
      c) Flash Menu
      d) PHP Rating Script
      e) PHP Poll script

It's kind of clear for me how to optimize keywords on these pages individually,  but what would be best content / terms / keywords to use on my main page and main page title and anchor text to my root domain? Should it be a mix of all these keywords mentioned above ? Or is it better to be a general term like "website scripts" ?

Whenever I do my keywords research there are some long tail key phrases that I usually target from specific pages, similar to what you are doing with your inner related pages but with head keywords I try to filer the list of head keywords and figure out who can offer good traffic and less conversion rate and then target it on the home page!

Now when your target of getting the inner pages raked the next thing you should be doing is to focus on head keywords and put efforts to increase visibility through search engine channels.

I am fairly new to SEO but have been having success on multiple sites.

What I have found that works is: aim for the keyword with the best rating (ie: low enough competition, high traffic, and the top 3 sites for that keyword have holes in their SEO that you can exploit, relevance etc) to go to your homepage.

One particular site that I worked on had 38 DA and 44 PA and so when I put an easy keyword on the homepage (lets call this Keyword #1) it went to no.1 within a week. Then I created a separate page to attract higher amounts of traffic with keyword #2 and it never ranked at all. Finally, I played around with the titles and h1 etc. and added the keyword #2 to the homepage (diluting the SEO, I know!) and within another week or two I saw the homepage ranking for on page two for keyword #2.

This is because the homepage carries more weight because most people link to it and so even though DA is very important, your PA is equally important when going after those tough keywords.

I would pick the best Keyword and make your homepage rank for that. The closer it is to the head keyword the better but just don't overshoot.
