I have a question i rank well for O'fallon lawn care and I dont rank well for O'Fallon, MO lawn care. Is it ok to go in that page and add some content optimizing it around O'Fallon, MO Lawn care or is that a bad idea.

Appreciate any feed back thanks everyone.

I think that you may consider tweaking a little your site however it depends on how bad are you ranking for the new term and how much traffic you think that new term will give you.

If you're ranking in first position of page 2 for the new term, maybe just modifying a little the h1 of your page you'll still maintain the old rankings but achieve an important increaase for the other term. But if you need to make many changes to the page to achieve better ranking which wil give you maybe 5 more visits a day, is really worth risking your old rankings?

Moreover, how optimized are your competitors? If your competitors are nto so heavily focused on Ofallon lawn care, maybe you may lose some strength on that exact term to achieve bettere results for the other.

It really depends on any particular case, if your competitors are strong and a slight cahnge may let you lose 3 position from top rankings, I won't risk at all. But it's up to you on how you consider you may improve your total traffic and exposure.

I rank number one the term is not competitive at all. I might be able to just make a page www.greensidelawncare.com/ofallon-lawn-care or what ever and see if i cant just get a top 3 result. You think i should just make a page about it and see if i cant begin to rank for that or you think i should do a blog post about that keyword less than 200,000 results for these keywords but I need to be on these pages

If I were you I'll try to create a new page/post focusing on that term, bes ure that the page is linked from the most realted one and see what happens.

If you see that page ranking you're done. If not try to build some value there and if you're still not ranking you may always try to 301 that page to the old ranking one, maybe passing that value to it you'll achieve to rank with that too even without changing it.

Of course before the 301 and any other thing you'll have to try achieving links there, if not you won't see much changes.
