You might want to try out SEMRush. There is a trial program that will show the first ten, but it gets deep with the paid.
I like it and we obviously use SEOmoz. (We have several of our staff on moz.)

It might have the particular view you want.

Not that I am aware of.

But you can get some information from

Google Analytics to see the organic keywords people are using to get to your site.

Google Webmaster Tools to see search queries, impressions, and CTR for different keywords.

Google Adwords can show you suggested keywords based on your website.

SEMRush claims to be able to do what you are asking; however, I don't think it does that good of a job.

Typically programs that claim to do such a thing just look at your backlinks for anchor text, keyword density, or the keyword meta tag if you still use it - so you really are only getting hypothetical answers.

        Hope this helps.

          Robert,

Do you find SEMRush to be accurate?

I guess I have only used the trial and was not impressed with the data that was returned - it was mainly branded terminology, which of course would be ranking well (or at least should be ranking well).

I am eager to hear from someone that has the paid version. Any insight would be great!

          Thanks,

          Mike

            Mike,

Are you saying you have used SEMRush? The query to Q&A was:

I am looking for an auto-detect type software that will tell me all the keywords that my site ranks for (say in top 50) without me having to actually manually enter 1000 kw's and wait for their ranks to populate.

When you say: **Typically programs that claim to do such a thing just look at your backlinks for anchor text, keyword density, or the keyword meta tag if you still use it - so you really are only getting hypothetical answers. **To me you are saying programs like this typically do ... Not, I have used it and it does not do it. So, again, I am at a loss.

For example, when searching on one of my clients there are branded terms and a ton of others (the site is well over 1,000 pages and a reference site.) I see nothing that says these are hypotheticals. In fact, I can do non personalized search and be within one or two every time. So, not sure why you would cast aspersions on this product. We have used enterprise software from one of the two larger providers for a heck of a lot more money and found it no better. So, based on the query, I think this might well be a solution.

just to be clear i want to type in a url and be told what kw's rank and in what position

so like a mining tool that can search google for all the times a certain url ranks and then return to me how they rank and with what kw's and which positions

                Hi Robert,

I actually replied to your original comment (immediately after posting my first comment) saying that I have used the trial of SEMRush and had no luck, mainly because it returned only branded terms for my sites and my competitors. In fact, I actually just counted and the 10 results that appear in the SEMRush report are actually on the first page of the Search Queries report in Google's Webmaster Tools.

I have not, nor did I claim to use the full version of SEMRush, that's why you will notice I stated in my original comment to you, "I am eager to hear from someone that has the paid version. Any insight would be great!"

And of the other programs I have tried, they typically would show generic keywords or phrase, which for my site match anchor text and/or keyword density. For instance, one of the keywords we rank well for is bill of materials. We do not target this keyword on our site; however, we have many backlinks pointing to a pdf about bills of material.

And regarding me slandering SEMRush, I am sorry you feel that I did. I thought I made myself clear in my comment by saying, "...I don't think it does that good of a job." - inferring that personally I do not care for it.

Again, I am sorry you feel I was attacking SEMRush, that was not at all my intent. I will make sure to be more specific the next time I reference a product in this way.

                Mike

                  Ezpro9 –

If you are looking to do competitive analysis, it sounds like Robert has had good luck with SEMRush.

If you are looking to strictly looking to find this information on your own site, I believe you will get the same or near identical data using the Search Queries functionality in Google’s Webmaster Tools.

                  Good luck.

                  Mike

I wasn't even worried about attacking SEMRush (you should see a couple of things I've said over the last couple of years re companies not doing what they state). I was concerned that we give good info and you are a knowledgeable person who will be listened to; I wanted to be sure we were being clear re the question that was raised.

Frankly, with SEMRush, like with any software, you have to understand the limitations. The point you make re queries in WMT, etc. are excellent. It's like the frequent questions re best keyword analysis software. To me, it's still Google's KW tool especially with the new Beta. So, there is not a conflict. If it seemed there was, my apologies (but I was sitting outside in the sun with a dog while someone inspected my home....aaaarrrrggghhh).

                    Best, and thanks,

                    Robert

With SEMRush, you type in the domain / url, and you will get the full monty. If you will PM me with a note stating you will not share any data, I will show you with an actual page from there. It may or may not be suitable for you, but then you will really know. I have no stake whatsoever in the decision and no affiliation or love with the company.
