Recommendation for Geotheme or other directory plugins / themes

Hello,

I was wondering, if anyone here in this community runs a directory using wordpress + a geolocation theme like Geoplaces or Geotheme or others. I have tested Geoplaces and felt with around 100 business entries that my page loaded superslow (up to 4 sec) already on a power server.

I would like to work with a fast, secure and SEO-friendly directory theme...any recommandations?

Hey Tim,

thanks for the quick feedback. I have seen that theme and it is still in my "to test" list. The big disadvantage of the Directory Portal Wordpress Theme is that you have nearly no option to customize your entries. I would like to have a lot of custom fields (schema data would be perfect). Was already thinking to get a plain theme and plugins like Gravaty forms, interactive map and to program a few things on my own. But then I probably would have a slow site again...

Just to let you know...I can not recommend that theme. I have purchased and tested it. For a quick install of a directory it is not bad but the customization is really a no go. I prefer WP Types+Views+CRED now for a directory. It is a little bit of work to set it up but it works afterwards perfectly.
