FAQ section
-
I’m keen to set up a FAQ section on my website that will be able to answer customer queries (minimising easily answerable phone calls) and also help bring in some long tail search traffic.
I’m trying to think of the best way to do this within my website CMS.
1 way would be to simply create a standard page for each of the questions and to link it all up from a main "FAQ" page. This however wouldn’t be easily searchable (something I think an FAQ section should be) and could be time-consuming (an editor having to update the main FAQ page every time we add an FAQ)
I know blogs have FAQ plugins….does anyone known of an easy to setup plug-in or add-on that I could easily use alongside my website CMS.
I’m struggling to find anything thats not for Wordpress, Joomla etc. that looks like it will work well alongside a website so I'm interested to know if anyone has any other ideas on how to achieve this.
What do you guys think?

Hi there,
Quick question - What CMS does your website currently use?
From your post, I can eliminate Wordpress and Joomla so my question would be whether it's a custom built CMS or one that you downloaded and installed.

Why not? If you're correctly interlinking between the pages as well as appropriate on-page SEO applied, I don't see any issue.

Thanks for the response Mark.
Yes this particular website does not use a Wordpress or Joomla CMS, it is a custom built CMS (don't get me started!).
I was hoping that there was some fancy bit of software out there that would allow me to enter a load of questions & answers and plug this into the website using some simple code.
As things stand the only way I can seem to do it is as you state, by using standard pages and interlinking them manually.
I was hoping that a plug-in would allow me to create a searchable hub of questions that almost exist outside of the main website (although does provide SEO benefits in the form of new unique content).
