Getting Google SERP data?
-
What's the best way to programatically get Google SERP data (i.e. like I assume SEOmoz's Rank Tracker Tool does) since Google has deprecated their web search API? Will the CSE API (http://code.google.com/apis/customsearch/v1/overview.html) give you accurate SERP listings?
We need the ability to get a list of urls ranked on the first page for Google for a keyword, hopefully including universal search results (videos, news, images, etc.).

Hi Adam. In addition to the SEOMoz Pro interface, I use two programmes, namely Advanced Web Ranking and Raven SEO Tools.

Thanks, Ralph. I'm wanting to know about the data source, not the software - what API or methodology software programmers can use to access Google SERPs data.

So according to http://groups.google.com/group/google-ajax-search-api/browse_thread/thread/bbf97020226534f3 the Google CSE API cannot be used to get SERP data, and there is no legal automated way to get SERP data. I'm guessing that there must be, though, as I'm guessing SEOmoz isn't breaking the Google TOS? Any input would be appreciated!
