      Would it be wise to change title tags on the fly? ex. NFL regular season is now complete and they are into the playoffs, want to optimize and structure page around new info. Worried about losing current rank.

      Thanks guys

        My advice would be to only change the title tags in this particular instance if the content of the page was also changing to reflect that the season is over and playoffs have started. Otherwise, if the content of the page hasn't changed at all and you are happy with your rankings, leave them alone. I'd throw in the caveat that if any of them just need basic improvement (i.e. they are too long and being truncated or they aren't well-written), then of course improving those is always a good idea.

        Hope that's helpful.

          Agree with Dana. If the content of the page is changing, then there is merit in changing the title tags.

          If you are going to be adding additional content though, just add additional pages to the currently ranking website under the appropriate semantic area of the site navigation. For example:

          website.com ----> website.com/teams ------> website.com/teams/seahawks ----> website.com/teams/seahawks/playoffs (new page)

          Hope that helps!
