      Hello all,

I know that Matt Cutt's stated a while back that .co domains would become recognized by google as a gtld and was wondering how google views .im domains.

I was looking at using a couple for work but have a generic name .im of my own that when checked in webmaster tools is locked to the isle of man in the geographical targeting option.

I was wondering if anyone can advise me on this and if possible provide some feedback based on experience with .im domains.

      Thanks.

Have you ever seen a .im site show up in google.com😉  i haven't

I would go with a .com if you want it to rank in the US, why start off with a major handicap?

the only reason .co is given a pass is because .co sounds like it stands for company. these domains were also more expensive than regular domains and therefore less prone to be used by spammers like .info extensions.

          Hi,

Thanks for the reply and sorry for mine being as late as it is. I understand what you are saying about .im ranking which is why I was nervous about using a .im domain. I have seen .me rank before and was mainly wondering if .im would be on par with .me.

          Thanks
