First, you should check if you have been penalised by Google.
- Perform a crawl on your site and take note of the number of indexed pages
- Check this number up against Google's search - "site:yourdomainname.com"
- Search "link:yourdomainname.com"
- If nothing comes up or the numbers are significantly lower in Google then it is likely you have been penalised.
You can ask for reconsideration to Google and your site will lose the penalisation if successful.
Instructions are here: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35843
As for the 0 seconds time spent - it may be because of the current spammy link profile. People (or bots) may be clicking through to the site and immediately leaving.

Hey Dan, thanks for the answer. How do I perform a crawl on my site?
I noticed that Google is indexing some pages of the old website which do not exist anymore, how do I get rid of them?
-
I use the SEOmoz crawler - http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test - there is a free option that crawls 250 pages.
I have also heard good things about - http://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/ - although I have never used it.
If those pages are now defunct then they will disappear from the results in due course. You may also add a robots.txt file to block search engines from crawling those pages. A best practice guide can be found here - http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/robotstxt

Where are the 30 visits a day coming from?
Also make a sitemap and submit and if the old site had a bunch of pages that do not exist then I would 301 all that you are aware of.
But also if its a new site why not a domain that is actually branded to you and your company and not some dropped thing?
