Can Twitter really help your Google Rankings??
-
Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me if Twitter really does help with your Goolge rankings?
If I go to the trouble of setting up a Twitter account for my business will it really help with me getting higher rankings?
If so is it a case of me just posting tweets all the time and links to my website?
Any help or guidance be grateful guys
Thanks
Gareth

Twitter, Facebook and any other social media site will help you in Google terms but few things here:
first you don't want to post tweets all day and link to your site, that's a big no. keep it natural try to have your customers follow you and give them relevant information of your industry.
sure sometimes you can run deals (i am not sure what you sale or service) and tweet about that , just make sure your site and twitter account linking one to the other.
do the same with Facebook and few others and yea it will help in the long run and not only to your ranking as don't forget ranking its not the all game customers are and if you communicate true social media it will help you in the long run for sure.
hope that help

google +, facebook shares, and then twitter in that order help your rankings. Also it seems they can lose strength over time if no new shares are added to that page.

I'd highly recommend not using Twitter solely for higher rankings. Twitter helps you with brand management, customer service, community management, etc. If you're only using Twitter to try to game Google, you're probably going about it the wrong way. I'd focus on managing your Twitter account in a way that will benefit you as part of your overall marketing strategy.
