It seems like a useful feature where I can see what backlinks look like right now vs. the last monthly Moz dataset update. That is mostly because my site is new, but wondered if I was missing something.

      Thanks, Steven

Hi Steven, I don't think you're missing anything. I think you'll just need to joining the rest of us waiting with baited breath for the next linkscape update to see how we'll we've been doing with our link building. The good news is that you can always spend the time building more links!

In a recent blog post from Rand, he mentions:

"As part of those efforts, we've been working toward an experimental index that leverages a more search-engine style crawler that crawls fresher pages/sites more often and less fresh stuff less frequently"

So maybe there's hope! The blog post is here:

        Interim Linkscape Update for January

It is frustrating when you're working on a new site though!

          Hi Steven,

You are correct in noting that SEOmoz does not have this functionality at this time. We are working actively on expanding the size and quality of our main index, which is published monthly, but I totally agree that it can be frustrating to wait to see new links when you are working on a new site.

As Doug mentioned in his response, we are working toward a separate fresher index which works quite differently, but this is still a little ways out. We will be sure to share more about it as progress continues.

Thanks for the question, and good luck with the new site!

          Adam

          • Since July 1, we've had a HUGE jump in errors on our weekly crawl. We don't think anything has changed on our website. Has MOZ changed something that would account for a large leap in duplicate content and duplicate title errors?
