Penguin Update and Infographic Link Bait

Is it still ok to use infographics for link bait now that the penguin update has rolled out?  Are there any techniques that should be avoided when promoting an infographic?

No reason not to.  It's still a legitimate way of getting links to your site.  I'd only be careful of the anchor text you suggest in your embed.  You don't want to make it too obvious or  spammy.

I'd also build the links to point to an inner page. If you run into an algorithmic issue with them, you can always 404 the page, lose the problematic links, and then hopefully you can solve some of the algorithmic issues.
