I have optimized my home page for the keyword "computer repairs" would I be better of targeting my links at this page or an additional page (which already exists) called /repairs it's possible to rename & 301 this page to /computer-repairs

The only advantage I can see from targeting /computer-repairs is that the keywords are in the target URL.

If you have a content on your home page that is also good for computer repairs than you can target that page. Just keep in mind to use targeted expression in headings and titile. It is true that /computer-repairs contains the KWs, but the home page always gets more pagerank, plus I suppose that you list more services on your home page that you are dealing with. So someone might seek computer repairs finds your home page and sees you are selling hardwer parts as well so clicks on that list to check out. I think it makes more sense to taget your home page. But you can have two pages ranking for computer repair as well if content is not identica.

I will advise you to target your keyword on main page because main page has more weight and trust in front of Google. So it should be easier to bring it on Top Page of Google. Also if you have another page with relevant information to your keyword then if will be great if you put a link on this page targeting on main page. of course the anchor should be your keyword.
