How often to resubmit updated sitemap?

Hello Forum,

I am working with an eCommerce website (not huge, a site with ~300 products and a blog that is updated every few days) that occasionally adds new products and may make a few large edits per week, if that.

Our CMS can automatically generate and submit our sitemap. Over what time interval is should we do this for? Daily, weekly, monthly, etc?

Google says maximum once every hour (just imagine if news sites, like NY Times were indexed weekly). So don't worry about submitting every two days.

In your situation I would recommend one of two approaches:

1. Submit the sitemap daily via automation.

2. Submit the sitemap any time a new product or article is added to the site.
