Intern here, asking :Serious inquire about my domain ranking slash google rank
-
Good day,
I am an intern at http://www.modbargains.com, and for the longest period of time we were able to maintain the #1 position for the keyword "Bmw Wheels" however, within the last few months, one of our competitors has outranked us, and taken our #1 spot. We have dropped down to rank #3. I have looked at the metrics located here: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/comparisons?site=www.modbargains.com&comparisons%5B0%5D=www.usarim.com
and from what I gather, they have us beat on the key areas, such as external followed linking, followed linking root domains, and linking c block.
I am still trying to figure out what all these mean, and I have been losing sleep over it. Any detailed analysis in layman's terms or suggestions would be great. Thank you all!

All of your questions are answered here: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/about
There is too much information to cover in a Q&A response. Followed vs no-followed linking, c-blocks, linking root domains, etc are all separate topics which can get a bit involved. I suggest reviewing the above link, and also the Beginner's Guide to SEO. If you have any follow up questions, feel free to ask.

You have a nice site, but your site is spammed for keywords related to BMW. You've stuffed every meta-tag and bit of content with spammy text. It's obvious you're trying way too hard.
Tone it down a little and build some social links to your site after you've fixed the spam. You will see a slight drop for about 3 days then it will come back stronger than ever.
I'm positive a little self-control can you get back to the #1 spot (or at least on the right track to get there).

Thank you both for your replies,
I personally find the site too overwhelming, and there are a lot of internal linking to the same types of products.
if removing the keywords in our meta tags and meta keywords to make them less spammy, will it help?

You'll have to test it and see. Don't remove all the keywords, just don't have the BMW keyword in there over and over. It looks spammy.
