Facebook LIKE page or Facebook Profile?

Hi.

We have a facebook profile called http://www.facebook.com/DesignerBoutiqueOnline but it is under the name Martin Webster. It has over 2840 friends and all our current advertising such as new stock, sales, discounts etc... get posted on that wall and customers can message us etc...

However I recently set up a business LIKE page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/DesignerBoutique-Online/112703805499507

Now that page on has 80 LIKE's so far and we post some adverts on there, maybe once a day.

Now my question is, is it more benficial to have the LIKE page and promote that on the site, so more people click LIKE or doesn't it really matter?

Basically, I have a facebook image on our site, do I link it to the LIKE page or the profile?

What holds the most weight?

I'm not exactly sure, however when we do this for our clients we go for the business like page everytime. It just seems more logical to have a business page for a business.

Hi Will... just a note. to use a personal profile for a business persona is not allowed by the Facebook guidelines, and can cause the ban of the profile.

Apart that, using a personal profile is an impediment if you want to really integrate Facebook and your site. In fact, only being the administrator of a business page you can have the Admin and App ID to use while integrating the open graph code in your site.

Right now you cannot really use and/or take advantage of all the FB social plugins as, for instance, the Facepile in your site...

Finally, independently by what solution you prefer, try to optimize your marketing action in FB:  don't use it just as a place were to repost your products... that's not really the way to use Facebook for business.

Cheers. I agree with you. Only problem is when it was set up I wasn't involved in the project at the time. So trying to figure out whats best now.
