  • I'd have to agree with this more! 301 to the category, that way once a new article/post/page/job etc appears under that article page, it will instantly have a boost from the PA/DA passed

  • Yes, you can add tags like I do to sort out business vs personal ones!

  • Sorry but input buttons are built for this. Why wouldnt you use link buttons and style to match your existing UI? Links of any kind are not the answer to this at all..

  • I've been thinking about this one too. And my inital reaction is that it doesn't count. Another thread at Google backs me up, http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=7778313784ba6db5&hl=en I'd go with that it doesn't, not unless the href is present.

  • See potential users don't see your homepage yet. You're bidding for their click among 9 other organic results on that page

  • The basic steps outlined below should work. CAVEAT: I'm a linux/apache person I don't know the specific implementation details for a windows/.net environment (but I believe it IS do-able - hopefully someone else can verify or expand on that) 1)  Copy the default index (default.aspx) to a new name (example: mydefault.aspx) Make mydefault.aspx the directory index for the root directory Modify the original default.aspx so that all it contains is a redirect to _http://www.outsolve-hr.com/_ 4)  NOW default.aspx can be 301'd safely 5)  Don't ever build any links to "mydefault.aspx" or you'll just re-create the problem! Existing links to default.aspx would then be resolved safely and it's highly unlikely new ones to  mydefault.aspx will appear. Probably worth looking into, since a 301 is more powerful - rel=canonical is viewed by some search engines as more of a "suggestion."

  • Hi Boson, Google does automate this process and does use refrences to your site from around the Web. it also takes into consideration any DMOZ listings (by default). This is confirmed here http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35264. I would recommend that you check your DMOZ listing (if you have one) and if that is wrong, attempt to get that changed, or use the NOODP meta tag described in the article. If that has no impact you should double confirm that everything is OK in your title and meta title tags on your page (e.g. there aren't any duplicate tags). If that doesn't bare any fruit, then your next step would probably be to try and contact some of the people that are linking toy ou with a typo and ask them to update their links - this si far from ideal though, so only do it as a last resort.

  • I haven't considered this option, thanks for the tip.

  • I think that its an issue. Although the link juice passed is not that high, it makes complete sense to get the images on the same server as the website. As an immediate step, you can add a nofollow tag to the links just to make sure that no link juice is passed.
