  • I have left a space between the logo and the main page, would this be a good place to write an introduction, maybe a paragraph to the site and maybe write a paragraph there or each section so when you go to a different menu section on the site, have the info there. or should i have it somewhere else on the site. at the moment i have no introduction on the site for the search engines to understand what the site is about

  • Hi Cyrus! Thanks for the response! There are some tools that say if it's a flash or frames site.. But after going through all the crawl diagnostics in SEOmoz PRO i think the information it offers automatically shows that there are issues due to frames or flash. I realise that it's not about whether a site has frames or flash but the issues that are caused by the use of these techniques. And i think that SEOmoz PRO failry covers these issues. Also, it's not a bad thing using the crawler in your head to check upon things once in while SEOmoz PRO is in my oppinion the only tool  that has a structured and efficient way of presenting data. Im just gonna use it some more and see if it really spares me hours working on projects. Thanks!

  • Yes, that would be best Link your main site with the G+ business pages & then link your personal G+ with your author page

  • Hi Don, Thanks for coming to Q&A to ask your question. Please, check out this post by Mike Blumenthal on exactly this process: http://blumenthals.com/blog/2011/02/03/basic-places-practices-how-do-you-claim-an-owner-verified-listing/ You are quite right. This happens all the time! Good luck!

  • Thanks guys. This is an interesting case indeed. Maybe it's just me being an SEO, but I tend to look at the URL on a good majority of the pages I hit. I don't want to confuse my users or provide them with inaccurate information. .4mm and 4mm is a big difference. I'm going to try out the decimal point and see how it behaves. I'll report back once we get the pages up.

  • The no follow attribute is per link and not per page. So if you have two links on page A, and only one has the no follow attribute, Googlebot will still follow the other link to page B and will pass on juice. How much juice depends on several factors such as the relevancy of the link and the quality of links pointing to the page where the link came from. I hope this helps

  • I used the rich snippets and it appears to be picking up the data from the ss tags correctly - thanks, that was a great tip to double check and ease our minds!

  • Each page is about 100 words all of which are exact duplicates except for where the "keyword" for that page is changed. So like  "Keyword" in California      /    "Keyword" in Nevada and so on. Yeah the long term goal is to get rid of these pages all together, but in the mean time i'd feel much better if our Real to Auto gen ratio was 1 : 0  instead of the current  1 : 1,000.   Simply blocking them in the robots.txt will make 95% of the site become a 404. So far my best bet is to Noindex, Follow the pages to give me to to actually fix the internal linking of the site. I'm just not sure if I should do all pages at once or do them slowly over time?
